I’m Oleksandr Liaskovskii, a Ukrainian knife maker devoted to crafting custom handmade knives—from rugged bushcraft blades and military-grade tools to elegant kitchen knives.
My journey began in 1987 in a quiet village in Kyiv Oblast, where I was born during the final years of the Soviet Union.

From Art to Steel

A Craftsman’s Beginning

My first passion was visual art. After finishing school, I enrolled in an art college, where I immersed myself in the world of colors, shapes, and creative expression. But while I refined my skills with a brush, a different calling grew stronger—my fascination with cold weapons.

Inspired by historical films and the legendary warriors of the past, I found myself drawn not just to the stories—but to the blades themselves. In my village lived a blacksmith who forged everything from knives and axes to hand tools. I would watch, hour after hour, as fire and steel transformed under his hammer. That’s where the dream took root.

A Turning Point: The Birth of a Bladesmith

At 21, I visited a private knife collector—and that moment changed everything. I saw knives that were not just tools, but functional works of art—each one blending beauty, purpose, and personal identity. Though I owned blades from major global brands, none ever felt truly “mine.” The grip, the blade, the sheath—something was always off. That’s when I decided: I would design and forge my ideal knife.
